As News4 reported, on May 15, 2016, at approximately 6:30 a.m., 3 people were shot in a vehicle at Magnus and Aikins. The victims of the shooting drove themselves to hospital where they were treated for their injuries.
Police investigated and it was determined that two male suspects in another vehicle produced a shotgun and discharged it in the direction of the victims.
On June 2, 2016, Bryce Alexander KEATING, 18 years old was located at a residence on College Avenue and charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
- Attempt to Commit Murder Using a Firearm x 5
- Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited Device Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Pointing a Firearm x 5
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
The investigation continued by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit. As a result, the second suspect was arrested on July 1, 2016 in the Elmwood area of the city involving the Tactical Support Team and East District Patrol members.
Clifford John JOBB, 27 years old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
- Attempt to Commit Murder Using a Firearm x 5
- Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Probation Order x 2
Both males were remanded into custody.
