ARREST | MAN BUSTED FOR VIOLENT ROBBERIES

Winnipeg Police have arrested an 18-year old male from Winnipeg in relation to two separate violent incidents that occurred during the early morning hours of June 26, 2016.

 Devon Charlie COLOMB has been charged for his alleged involvement with:

  •              Robbery x 2
  •              Utter Threats
  •              Possess Weapon
  •              Mischief Under x 2 

At approximately 2:45 a.m. on June 26, 2016 the accused, accompanied by a second suspect, who has not yet been arrested, confronted a male and female in their thirties in the area of the 100 block of River Avenue. The second suspect, armed with a knife, threatened the female victim.

Without provocation, the second male assaulted the victim and demanded she hand over her purse. The accused and the suspect fled the area. The victim was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

At approximately 5:40 a.m. Colomb confronted an 18-year-old male in the 400 block of Portage Avenue. The accused threatened the victim with a machete and demanded he turn over his transit pass. The victim complied and was able to escape without injury.

Police were contacted and at approximately 6:00 a.m. Colomb was arrested a short distance away.

Colomb and the co-accused were also linked to two earlier incidents that morning where vehicles were broken into in the 100 block of River Avenue.
