Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged a man with homicide in relation to a death that occurred on Friday, December 31, 2021.
Officers were called to a home in the 300 block of Alexander Avenue around 2:30 am on Friday, December 31, 2021, for the report of a seriously injured person. The man, now identified as 43-year-old Robert Randall Anderson, did not survive his injuries.
Investigators now believe James Glen Houle, 32, who knew the victim, went to Anderson’s residence, armed with a firearm, and confronted him. The say an altercation occurred and Anderson was shot and killed.
Houle was ultimately arrested in the early morning hours of January 12, 2022, at a residence in the 500 block of Manitoba Avenue. The arrest followed a lengthy standoff with police that ended with Houle’s surrender.
Houle has now been charged with second degree murder and weapons charges, and he was detained in custody.
