Around 6:00am on Saturday September 17, 2016 police saw a Dodge Neon driving erratically near cottonwood Road and Drake Blvd.

The vehicle took off at a high rate of speed toward Archibald Street without concern for others. The driver hit the median and smashed into a light standard disabling the vehicle.

A male and female occupant attempted to get away on foot but were quickly caught by police.

Police found the two suspects were in possession of a .22 calibre rifle, a quantity of methamphetamine and bolt cutters.

Cody Hartog, 21 years and Shannon Ogal, 37 years have been charged with a number of drug and weapon related offences due to their alleged involvement.

Hartog is also facing several Highway Traffic Act offences including:

Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Drive while Disqualified
Drive without Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance

Both were remanded into custody.
