Cops catch drug dealer in the act

A 31-year-old bicycle riding drug dealer is behind bars after police watched him conduct what appeared to be a drug transaction near Powers Street and Magnus Avenue on Monday, June 25, 2018.

Police pursued the suspect and found him trying to hide from officers on the roof of a garage in the 400 block of Pritchard Avenue.

As officers pulled him from the roof he resisted but was eventually taken into custody.

During a search, police found Meth, Xanax, Percocet, Bear Spray, Cash, packaging materials and a scale.

31-year-old Darrick Wallace Desmarais from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Scheduled Substance – Alprazolam
  • Possession of Scheduled Substance – Oxycodone
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x2)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was detained in custody.
