An early morning armed robbery Tuesday morning, April 23, 2019, have police looking for multiple suspects.
RCMP say that around 2:30 am a man from the RM of St. Clements was driving home when he noticed he was being followed by a silver pickup truck. As the man pulled into his driveway the truck stopped behind him. The diver of the pickup then asked the man for directions but it became evident that was only a ruse as the driver and a passenger from the backseat got out of the truck carrying rifles.
Police say the victim was ordered to the ground and the suspects demanded he turn over the keys to his vehicle along with a number of personal items.
The man who had been driving the pickup hopped into the victim’s SUV and drove off with the pickup following.
Police say the driver of the pickup is described as an Indigenous male, approximately 6′ tall with a large frame. He had light stubble and tattoos covering the left side of his face and neck. He was wearing a light coloured jacket and jeans.
The other suspect who had exited the truck is described as Indigenous, 5’7″-5’8″ tall with a camouflage mask covering his face. He was wearing a ball cap, dark jacket and jeans.
The victim also had noticed there were three other people in the pickup. Two Indigenous males in the backseat and a Caucasian-looking female with long black hair and thick black rimmed glasses in the front passenger seat.
Police say that the stolen vehicle is a blue 2017 Nissan Rogue with Manitoba licence plate EVJ834.
Police say that if you see the stolen vehicle to not approach it and call 911. Anyone with any information that can help solve this crime is asked to call RCMP at 204-667-6519.
