Robber uses pellet gun, facing multiple weapon and robbery charges

Winnipeg Police have arrested an armed robber after he walked into a convenience store in the 300 block of Manitoba Avenue and held it up at gunpoint. It happened Sunday afternoon just before 1:30 pm. The suspect then took off on foot.

Police located the robber within a half hour on Main Street and after a short foot chase, they placed him under arrest.

33-year-old Joseph Isiah Boulanger is facing charges for his alleged involvement of Robbery, Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition and Possession Weapon.

The weapon turned out to be a pellet gun.

Boulanger also was wanted on two outstanding warrants for two counts of Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Mischief Under $5,000 and Pointing a firearm.

He was detained in custody.
