A 37-year-old male was arrested by police after he was allegedly involved in several armed robberies in the early morning hours of May 1, 0218.
Police say the accused went into three businesses between 2:40 am and 5:00 am and demanded money.
In the first two incidents, he was unsuccessful and fled the stores empty-handed. In the third incident, the suspect pulled a knife and demanded money from the male clerk. The clerk handed over cash and the suspect fled.
Members of the Major Crimes Unit were able to track down the suspect in the robberies and arrested him in the 2400 block of Portage Avenue just after 4:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2018.
Nolan Ray Coutu, from Winnipeg, has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Robbery X3
- Possess Weapon X2
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order X8
He was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
