ARMED ROBBER BUSTED AFTER TARGETING MULTIPLE BANKS AND BUSINESSES

Winnipeg Police have arrested a man who began a robbery spree in the city in mid February of 2016.

Between February 15 2016 and June 26 of 2017 the suspect allegedly robbed two commercial businesses and five financial institutions.

The man wore a disguise in all the robberies and used a firearm in at least three of them according to police. He also threatened staff during the thefts.

Winnipeg’s Major Crime Unit was able to identify the suspect and earlier today, June 27, 2017 officers arrested 39 year old Rakesh Rakesh from Winnipeg.

Rakesh has been charged with the following offences for his alleged involvement.
   
  –       ArmedRobbery Using a Firearm X3
  –       Disguise with Intent X6
  –       Robbery X4
  –       Possess Weapon
