Winnipeg Police responded to reports of armed men and a robbery in progress around 5:00 am December 29, 2016
The call came in telling police that armed men had forced their way into two different suites of a home in the 600 block of Selkirk Avenue. The men had assaulted the residents of the suites.
Officers arrived on scene and arrested one suspect outside of the residence and then arrested two other suspects as they exited the home. A .22 caliber rifle was seized at the time of the arrests.
Two men were taken to hospital in stable condition. A male youth and a female youth victim were also in the home but not hurt.
Three adult males were arrested for their alleged involvement:
Cody Damien CHARTRAND, 25, of no fixed address was charged with:
– Robbery with a firearm x 4
– Break and enter x 2
– Use firearm in the commission of an offence x 2
– Point firearm x 2
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm
– Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
– Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
– Assault with a weapon x 2
– Utter threats x 4
– Forcible confinement x 4
– Warrant of Arrest x 2
– Fail to conditions of a Recognizance x 3
Jeffery Alan RODGERS, 45 fromWinnipeg was charged with:
– Robbery with a firearm x 4
– Break and enter x 2
– Use firearm in the commission of an offence x 2
– Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
– Sexual assault
– Forcible confinement x 4
Brandyn Joel PETERS, 22 from Winnipeg was charge with:
– Robbery with a firearm x 4
– Break and enter x 2
– Fail to comply with probation order
All three suspects were detained in custody.
