A 24-year-old male is facing Manslaughter charges after an argument turned violent.

Police say that in the morning of Saturday, May 11, 2019, 66-year-old Calvin Chan with the help of a neighbour was attempting to back a boat into a garage in the lane near Burrows Avenue and Albina Way when the suspect tried to drive down the lane. An argument between the suspect and Chan broke out escalating to a serious assault of the victim.

When officers arrived on scene they found the victim unresponsive and the suspect nearby. Chan was taken to hospital in critical condition but died from his injuries soon afterwards. The suspect was arrested.

Dennis Lloyd Jr. Penner from Winnipeg is facing charges of Manslaughter for his alleged involvement.

Penner was detained in custody.
