An early morning incident in Winnipeg has led to the arrest of a 22-year-old female suspect following an assault involving a weapon.
At approximately 7:32 a.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2025, Winnipeg Police Service officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Notre Dame Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a 33-year-old female victim suffering from injuries indicative of an upper-body assault. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was involved in a heated verbal altercation with the suspect within a suite at the location. The argument escalated, culminating in the suspect brandishing a knife and attacking the victim before fleeing the scene.
Officers administered emergency medical care to the victim before she was transported to a nearby hospital. Initially admitted in critical condition, the victim’s status was subsequently upgraded to stable.
After a brief investigation, the suspect was located and apprehended without incident at approximately 9:49 a.m. The 22-year-old female from Winnipeg is facing charges for her alleged involvement of Possession of a Weapon and Assault with a Weapon. Following the arrest, she was released on an Undertaking, as mandated by the Criminal Code.
