Another body has been discovered along the shore of the Red River

Winnipeg Police Service responded to reports of a body of an adult male that had been found along the shore of the Red River near Stephen Juba Park along Waterfront Drive on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

The WPS Underwater Search and Rescue Unit was seen moving the body up the embankment from their boat to to an area on shore beside the Mere Hotel.

Police cordoned off a large area of the park while the forensics unit and officials with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner were on the scene.

Police say that an autopsy is pending to determine the cause of death. Foulplay is not suspected at this time.
