Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a one-and-a-half storey home on Anderson Avenue late Friday night.
When crews arrived shortly after 11:00 pm they found smoke coming from the building.
Although everyone evacuated the structure prior to emergency crews arriving firefighters did rescue a cat from inside the home.
The fire was situated in the kitchen according to emergency crews and was quickly put out.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
