Guido Amsel the 52-year-old man accused of sending bombs through the mail was convicted on Thursday, May 17, 2018, on four counts of attempted murder as well as 11 other charges stemming from incidents in 2013 and 2015.

Provincial Court Judge Tracy Lord found Amsel guilty of attempting to kill his ex-wife in 2013 and again in 2015. He was also convicted of attempting to murder lawyers Maria Mitousis and George Orle. Mitousis was seriously injured when a bomb exploded in her hand after she opened a package sent to her in the mail. She had been Amsel’s ex-wife’s lawyer during a civil case about money that was owed to her from the divorce proceeding years earlier.
Sentencing will be carried out at a later date.
