The Manitoba provincial government announced on Monday, October 5, 2020, that Amazon will be opening a new delivery station in Winnipeg.
The new facility will be in the Inkster Industrial Park and will be about 113,000 square feet in size.
“We are excited to continue our growth in Canada with our first Manitoba delivery station in Winnipeg,” said Tushar Kumar, regional director, Amazon last mile logistics operations for Amazon Canada. “This new delivery station will allow us to provide fast and efficient delivery for customers, and provide hundreds of job opportunities for the talented local workforce.”
The new facility will receive and sort parcels from other distribution centres and co-ordinate Winnipeg area deliveries through third-party service providers.
It is expected that hundreds of direct and indirect full-time and part-time jobs will be created when the facility is up and running in 2021.
