Altona Police Service have arrested a 54 year old man for allegedly forcibly confining and sexually assaulting a 25 year old Altona woman.

According to the complaint on October 24, 2016, the victim was provided pills that made her feel drowsy over a several day period. when she regained consciousness the accused was allegedly sexually assaulting her.

When she resisted the man allegedly choked her to almost the point of unconsciousness. He also would not let her leave according to her statement to police.

Police have charged the adult male with Breaching the Conditions of an Undertaking, Forcible Confinement, Utter Threats, Sexual Assault and Choking to Overcome Resistance.

The Victim and the Accused were known to each other prior to the sexual assaults occurring. The adult Altona male was remanded into custody at the Manitoba Remand Center.
