Manitoba announced on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, that all Manitobans over the age of 18 are now eligible to receive the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
The province is also adjusting its approach for the AstraZeneca vaccine due to ongoing evidence and supply issues. Although first doses of that vaccine can still be administered they will only be given out to people who might not otherwise be immunized at other sited. Most of the remaining supply of AstraZeneca will be saved for second-dose immunizations only.
The province is also monitoring whether different types of vaccines can be used to administer second doses.
The province noted that they expect all Manitobans 18 and over who wish to be vaccinated will receive their first dose by June 8.
Appointments for all adults can now be booked at super sites and pop-up clinics online at https://protectmb.ca or by calling 1-844-626-8222.
