Alfred Avenue house suffers significant damage during afternoon fire

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were called to a fire in one-and-a-half storey home on Alfred Avenue Monday afternoon, July 7, 2020.

Crews arrived on scene around 2:50 pm and found thick smoke and flames coming from the structure.

An offensive attack was launched.

No one was in the residence at the time of the fire.

Due to the extreme heat crews were rotated as they battled the flames.

The fire was declared under control by 3:35 pm.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury and was treated on scene by paramedics.

The home suffered significant damage due to fire, smoke and water.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
