An Alberta Clipper is heading to Manitoba and bringing snow, strong winds and cold temperatures says Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).
According to the national forecaster, the system is expected to move into Manitoba beginning Sunday night and will continue into Monday. The fast-moving system is expected to bring less than 10 cm to southern Manitoba with heavier accumulations in the north.
As the system passes temperatures will plummet to around -20c with windchills in the -30c to -35c range. Winds are expected to gust in the 70km/h range.
The extreme cold is expected to break later in the week and return to seasonal temperatures.
