The skies above Winnipeg will once again resonate with the sounds of AIR-1 watching over us. The police helicopter has been given the loan of a infrared camera from the Alberta RCMP until they are able to procure a new one.
AIR 1 | POLICE SECURE FUNDING FOR THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA
The Winnipeg Police Board approved funding for the replacement of the camera late last month. The procurement process has begun but it will be several months before a new camera in installed and operational.
In the mean time flight operations will resume and Air-1 will continue to provide support in the detection pf criminal acts and the apprehension of suspects.
