AIR-1 Tagged by Laser 

WPS helicopter, AIR-1, was tagged Wednesday night with a laser in the area of Salter and Selkirk. The members of the Flight Operations Unit began searching for the source when they were tagged an additional five times. 

Laser light can disorient pilots and force them to take evasive maneuvers which may put the aircraft in danger. Not only is it not smart to tag aircraft with laser light it also illegal.

As the investigation continued it was determined that the light was coming from a house in the 300 block of Selkirk Avenue. Patrol officers on the ground arrested a 16 year old male. He has been charged with Mischief – Endangering Life and under Canadian Aviation Regulations Project Light Source into Navigable Airspace. He was released on a promise to appear.
