Agnes Street Shooting Claims One Life

A 30-year-old man is dead following a shooting in the 400 block of Agnes Street early Tuesday morning, April 1, 2025. Winnipeg Police Service officers are now investigating the incident as a homicide.  

Police responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 12:55 a.m. Upon arrival, Central District General Patrol officers discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided immediate emergency first aid before paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.

The victim succumbed to his injuries in hospital. He has been identified as Brenton Sean Paul Harper, 30, a member of Garden Hill First Nation and a Winnipeg resident.  

The Winnipeg Police Service’s Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. Family notifications have been made.  

Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in their investigation. They are urging anyone with video surveillance from the area or any information related to the shooting to come forward.
