Additional people charged in connection to the dismantling of the encampment at the Legislature

Winnipeg police say that five additional people have been charged in connection to the dismantling of the encampment on the legislative grounds on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

Officers have charged 45-year-old Trina Maggie Francois, 43-year-old Daniel Lawerence Jones, 50-year-old Phillip Michael McLennan, 50-year-old Gregory Thomas Pittman and 54-year-old Owen Lee Hall for their alleged involvement with Obstruct Peace Officer and Occupy Tent or Portable Structure in Legislative Precinct.

In a media release on Wednesday police detailed the weapons that were found in the encampment while it was being dismantled which included three axes, a hammer, a hatchet, body armour, a 3-foot club, a spear and a machete.
