Academy Lanes announced on Saturday June 24, 2017 that they will be closing one of three locations effective July 18, 2017.
In a letter posted on social media Todd Britton, President of Academy Lanes said that they were forced to close the Academy Road location after 35 years because of “circumstances beyond our control”. Those circumstances centre around not being able to negotiate a new rental agreement to continue to use the building from the property owners.
Academy Lanes other locations,Billy Mosienko Lanes and Academy Lanes West, will remain open.
Britton says that he is hoping to relocate Academy Lanes to a new venue in the near future.
