Police are investigating an early morning carjacking

A carjacking in Winnipeg early Monday morning, February 6, 2023, has police searching for a stolen truck.

Investigators say that around 12:45 am a man and woman were sitting in their truck in the 700 block of King Edward Street when a male and female approached the vehicle and asked for a cigarette. The male suspect then pointed a firearm at the victims and ordered them out of the vehicle. The victims complied and the suspect drove away in their truck. Neither victim was physically injured.

Police say that the male suspect is described as Indigenous. He is slim, approximately 25 years old. He was wearing a long dark jacket, black hoodie, and black pants with a camo neck warmer over his face. The female was described as wearing all black.

Police say the suspects stole a grey Dodge Ram 1500, ST Crew Cab.

Anyone with information about the incident or where the vehicle may be is asked to call the Major Crimes Unit at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-8477.

Police say that if you do spot the vehicle call 911 and do not approach it as the occupants may be armed.
