RCMP are investigating a shooting in Dakota Plains Wahpeton Oyate on March 2, 2022.

Police say they received a report about the shooting at 7:00 am and immediately went to the scene where they found a 50-year-old female with injuries. The woman was taken to hospital, treated then released.

Officers have determined that four people were inside a home when the shooting happened. The injured female was sleeping in her bed at the time when she was hit by bullets that had been fired outside the residence.

Several bullets were found to have hit and entered the building. No other injuries were reported.
