Balcony fire at a Gaylene Place apartment under investigation

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire on the third floor of a six storey apartment building late Thursday night, April 22, 2021.

Two 911 calls and an alarm triggered the response about 10:56 pm on Gaylene Place. A second alarm was called in order to increase the number of crews and equipment available on the scene.

When firefighters arrived flames were seen on a third floor balcony. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was quickly extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
