Transcona home suffers significant damage during fire

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a single-storey house fire in the 100 block of Laurentia Bay at 2:50 am Friday morning, April 2, 2021.

As firefighters approached the house they were treated with smoke and flames coming from the building. A defensive attack was launched until conditions improved at which point crews transitioned to an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 4:08 am

Everyone who had been in the residence at the time of the fire were able to get out before fire crews arrived. No injuries were reported.

Fire officials say the home sustained significant damage from smoke, fire and water.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
