RCMP in Norway House responded to a residence on New Year’s Eve around 7:40 pm for the report of a fight involving two males.

When officers arrived on the scene they were told one of males had gone to a neighbours house armed with a shotgun.

Police cordoned off the house and tried to contact the people inside without any success. Officers learned that there were as many as 13 people inside the home.

Around 8:45 pm several people exited the home and surrendered. Police entered the home and found several additional suspect inside. They also seized a loaded shotgun.

25-year-old Alec Muswagan was charged for his alleged involvement with multiple firearm offences and detained in custody.

Ten others were arrested in the home, six males (ages of 67, 30, 30, 27, 20 and 18) and four females (ages of 30, 23, 23 and 19). The were all released but are scheduled to appear in a Norway House court at a later date.
