RCMP officer facing dangerous driving charges

An RCMP officer in Stonewall is facing charges of Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm stemming from a February 2020 collision.

Constable Sasha Manj, 27 was formally charged yesterday, December 17, 2020 after an investigation by RCMP and a review of the charges from Manitoba Prosecution Services.

Police say that the constable was driving a marked police patrol unit when she responded to an emergency call for service in the Stonewall area. The Emergency lights and siren was activated as she entered the intersection of Racetrack Road and Highway 1 and was involved in a collision with two other vehicles. Several people suffered minor injuries including the officer and were treated and released at the scene.

Manj has just over one year of service with the RCMP is remains on active duty.

The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba monitored the investigation.
