Hoka Street commercial building fire under investigation

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire in a commercial building on Hoka Street around 5:30 Wednesday morning, November 25, 2020.

When crews arrived there was a fire on the exterior of the building that had extended into paper compactor and conveyor inside the structure.

Firefighters launched an offensive attack and battled the fire for the next two hours. Heavy smoke and the location of the blaze made it difficult access the fire.

The WFPS drone was used to help identify hot spots. The fire was declared under control at 7:24 am.

No one was in the building at the time of the fire. The cause is under investigation.
