A female from Bethesda Place has died from COVID-19, 25 new cases reported

Manitoba Public Health announced that a female in her 90s has died due to COVID-19. This case was previously reported and is connected to Bethesda Place personal care home in Steinbach. Her death is the 13th in Manitoba related to the virus since the pandemic began.

25 new cases of COVID-19 announced on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. The total number of lab-confirmed cases stands at 1,018.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 2.7 per cent.

10 of the new cases are in the Prairie Mountain Health region, nine new cases in the Southern Health region and six cases in the Winnipeg Health region.

Seven people are reported being treated for the virus in hospital with one person currently in intensive care.

There are currently 399active cases of COVID-19 in the province with 606 people listed as recovered.

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 is 13.

1,428 laboratory tests were completed on Monday. According to Manitoba Public Health, the total number of completed tests since early February is 128,576.

Public health urges Manitobans to stop going out when you feel ill, wash your hands often, cover your cough and practice physical distancing often. If you can’t physical distance then wear a mask.
