The impact of the explosion and subsequent fire tore the outer door off its hinges, shattered a nearby window and chard much of the front facade.

Part of the propane tank landed on the boulevard while another part landed on the second-floor balcony.

Fire officials at the scene told News 4 that two people, a male and a female, were transported to hospital.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
