A fire on Poplar Avenue sent one person to hospital according to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service.
Firefighters responded to the blaze just after 3:30 pm on Wednesday June 17, 2020. As they arrived on scene smoke could be seen coming from the three-storey apartment building.
An offensive attack was launched and the fire was knocked down and under control within 30 minutes.
Most of the residents in the building were able to self-evacuate but a few were bought to safety by firefighters.
Paramedics assessed one person on scene and decided to transport them to hospital for treatment.
officials say the fire was contained within one suite. All other residents of the building were able to return to their apartments after crew completed ventilating smoke from the building.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
