Premier Brian Pallister announced on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, that the government will be implementing the Phase two reopening plan effective June 1, 2020.

As phase two begins a number of businesses, services and activities will be permitted to once again operate under enhanced guidelines.

Physical distancing requirements remain in place with exceptions for brief interactions when required.

Travel is still restricted to northern Manitoba except when travelling to provincial parks, campgrounds, cabins, lodges and resorts while ensuring physical distancing.

Anyone entering Manitoba will still be required to self-isolate for 14 days with certain exceptions.

As of June 1 Religious organizations, other organizations and drive-in movie theatres may hold outdoor events without limitation on numbers if people stay in their vehicles, or stand outside on the left side of their vehicles with some restrictions.

Child Care can increase numbers to 24 children plus staffing.

Classroom learning will remain suspended for the remainder of the school year. However, schools are now open for staff and specific programs. As well, students will be able to meet with teachers for the purpose of assessment and planning for the resumption of classes in September.

Day camps are limited to a maximum of 24 children. Choirs or musical theatre activities will not be allowed, due to a higher risk of transmission. Overnight camps are not permitted.

Team sports and other recreational activities may reopen as long as physical distancing can be maintained. Indoor facilities like bowling alleys can operate at 50% capacity.

Outdoor recreation facilities, including golf courses, can operate at full capacity as long a social distancing can be maintained. Indoor spaces can only have 50% occupancy.

Swimming pools, splash pads, spas and fitness centres can operate at 50% capacity if physical distancing can be maintained.

Community centres and other multi-purpose facilities such as church basements, arenas and town halls can be reopened if they are used for classes and activities allowed in Phase Two. Occupancy is limited to 25 people or less.

Manicurists and pedicurists, tattoo parlours, estheticians, cosmetologists, electrologists and tanning parlours may reopen as long as physical distancing is followed except for brief exchanges.

Restaurants, bars, beverage rooms, micro-brewers and similar businesses will be allowed to reopen dining rooms at 50% capacity as long as there is at least a two-metre separation between persons sitting at different tables.

Film production can resume as long as physical distancing can be maintained, except for brief exchanges. All travel restrictions must be adhered to.

Occupancy limits for regulated health care businesses have been lifted. Non-regulated health care professions are restricted to 50% capacity.
