No new cases on Wednesday, Phase 2 of the reopening plan begins Friday

No new case of COVID-19 has been identified in Manitoba on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. The total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases remains at 290.

One person is currently being treated in hospital for the virus. No one is in intensive care.

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in Manitoba remains at Seven.

260 people have recovered from the virus with 23 cases still listed as active.

245 tests for COVID-19 were performed on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, bringing the total number of tests performed since early February to 35,820.

Phase two of the reopening plan will begin to be implemented on Friday May 22, 2020. Gathering sizes will increase from a maximum of 10 to no more than 25 people indoors and no more than 50 people outdoors. Social distancing measures are still in place and must be followed.

Personal care home outdoor visits will begin to be permitted over the nest week. Plans are being finalized and facilities will be contacting families to provide details regarding start date, locations and hours for visitation. Visitors will have enhanced screening on arrival with hand hygiene and social distancing enforced. A maximum of two visitors will be permitted at a time. Indoor visits will not be permitted.

More details about the implementation of Phase two will be announced in the next few days.
