Four new cases of COVID-19 announced Friday

Manitoba Public Health announced on Friday. May 1, 2020, that there are four new cases of COVID-19 identified in the province. The total number of cases remains at 279

Currently, there are five people being treated for the virus in the hospital with no intensive care patients

235 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Manitoba with 38 cases remaining active.

The number of deaths related to the virus remains at 6 in Manitoba.

689 tests were performed on Thursday, April 30th bringing the total number of lab-confirmed and probable tests performed since early February to 25.402

Testing criteria now includes all symptomatic Manitobans. Anyone showing symptoms still needs to be referred for testing by calling Health Links at 204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257.

Manitoba has set up an online portal to allow people who have been tested for COVID-19 to receive their negative test results more quickly. Beginning next week those being tested will be given information about how to register and access their results. A Manitoba health card is required to access the online portal.

People without a health card or access to the internet can call a toll-free number.

Those who have tested positive will continue to receive notice directly from health officials.
