Two females facing drug charges after trying to enter Long Plain First Nation

Two Winnipeg women were arrested for drug trafficking after trying to gain access to Long Plain First Nation on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.

Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) says the pair had attempted to gain access to the first nation community at the Highway 305 check-point but were denied by Long Plain security.

Security contacted MFNPS due to the suspicious nature of the incident. Both females attempting to gain entry were not members of the community.

Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and learned that the two females were wanted on outstanding warrants.

The suspects were arrested by officers but a search of the vehicle uncovered 12.77 grams of Meth and more than $1,200 in cash.

Crystal Shannon Beardy, 31 was charged for her alleged involvement with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Obstruct Justice.

Terri Lynn Houle, 36 was charged for her alleged involvement with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Fail to Comply Undertaking, Drive without a License, Unlawful Transportation of Liquor in Motor Vehicle.

Both accused were detained in custody.
