On Sunday April 12, 2020, Manitoba Public Health announced that one probable case of COVID-19 has been determined to be a false positive. That reduces the number of Lab-confirmed and probable cases to 242.

Eight people are currently in hospital with COVID-19 with four of those receiving treatment in intensive care.

The number of those who have recovered from the virus in the province remains at 96.

The total number of deaths remains at four.

On Saturday Cadham Provincial Laboratory performed 850 tests bringing the total number of people tested to 17,221.

Public Health officials continue to say that the current case numbers do not mean the risk of COVID-19 is reduced. They say that it is important to continue social distancing, avoid all non-essential travel, avoid gatherings with people outside your household in order to continue to flatten the curve.

As of today there are 23,736 cases of COVID-19 in Canada. 675 people have died nation wide.

Across the globe the number of COVID-19 cases stands at 1,827,284 with more than 113,000 deaths.
