Second arrest made in the murder of Jessie Catterson

Winnipeg Police homicide investigators have made a second arrest in the murder of 36-year-old Jessie Robert David Catterson.

On May 21, 2019 Police responded to the report of an injured male in the 500 block of Flora Avenue. Catterson was suffering from a stab wound that would ultimately be fatal. He was taken to hospital but pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Police made an initial arrest on June 26, 2019 charging 36-year-old Donald Leslie Parisien with Second Degree Murder for his alleged involvement.

On Sunday, August 4, 2019 the second suspect in the killing was arrested by investigators.

Matthias Tyler Sexton, 25 from Winnipeg is facing charges of Second Degree Murder and Possession of a Weapon for his alleged involvement.

Sexton was detained in custody.

Police believe that the victim and two suspect were know to each other. They say that an apparent dispute escalated into the stabbing of Catterson.
