Manitoba First Nations Police raid Swan Lake home, seize weapons

Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) executed a search warrant on a home on the Swan Lake First Nation, June 21, 2019. Swan Lake First Nation is about 177 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg.

Officers seized a number of weapons during the raid including 14 rifles, 2 shotguns, 2 crossbows, a 9mm handgun and a .22 calibre revolver. Several edged weapons were also confiscated.

The homeowner, an adult male, was arrested shortly after the raid and charged with Unsafe Storage of Firearms for his alleged involvement.

In the month of June MFNPS has seized more than 40 firearms.
