Man wanted after recognizance conditions revoked

29-year-old Matthew Delaronde who was arrested in connection to a drug seizure in Thompson on February 22, 2019, is wanted by police after the conditions of his recognizance was revoked.

Police had seized pills during a traffic stop in the northern city and suspected that they were Oxycodone but testing revealed that the pills contained Fentanyl.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is extremely dangerous. It is more than 100 times more powerful than Morphine.

Police are warning the public that there may still be some of the pills floating around in the community and area. Consumption of the pills could cause serious harm or death.

“The public needs to be aware that there may be additional pills, in the community and surrounding area, disguised as Oxycodone that may contain fentanyl” said Cpl. Julie Courchaine of the Manitoba RCMP. “These pills could cause serious harm or even death and should not be consumed.”

Delaronde is also wanted in connection to a robbery in Thompson on March 20, 2019. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call RCMP at 204-677-6911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).


RCMP report on April 9, 2019 Matthew Delaronde turned himself into RCMP in Thompson after learning through media reports that he was wanted by police.
