Two injured after youth pulls knife during fight

Winnipeg Police say they were called to the report of a stabbing at St. Johns High School on Church Avenue on Monday afternoon, February 11, 2019.

When officers arrived on scene they found two injured males in their teens with apparent wounds. Both victims were taken to hospital by paramedics in stable condition. Once at the hospital it was determined that one of the teens did not require further medical attention say police.

Investigators believe that the teens were involved in a fight. During the altercation the suspect pulled out a knife and injured the othe two males with it.

The 14-year-old male suspect was located about 30 minutes later, just after 3:00 pm at a home in the William Whyte neighbourhood.

The youth has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon.

He was released on a promise to appear in court.
