Another drug trafficker has been taken down, at least for now, as members of Winnipeg’s Street Crime Unit raided an apartment in the 100 block of Hargrave on Thursday evening, November 9, 2017.
Officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a suite in the building and seized 2,5 ounces of methampetamine (worth about $6,200) and a loaded .22 calibre revolver.
A male and a female who were in the suite were arrested. The male tried to pass himself off as someone else and produced fake ID with another name. When polie were able to identify the suspect they found he was lying to police in an attempt to evade a number of other arrest warrants.
Also in the suite was a 31 year old female who is now facing a charge of Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine. She was released on a promise to appear.
The male suspect Mark David Hurdon, a 26 from Winnipeg, has been charged for his involvement with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm
- Careless Storage of Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Identity Fraud – Intent to Gain Advantage
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x3)
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x2)
In addition to the drug and weapon charges Hurdon was arrested for three outstanding warrants for Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x3) and Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x2).
He was detained in custody.
