Two people shot in separate incidents overnight in Winnipeg

Two people were shot in separate incidents in the early morning hours of Friday September 15, 2017. Police do not know if the shootings are related.
Around 3:30 am officers responded to a report of a man being shot in the 300 block of College Avenue. When they arrived they found a man in his 20’s with a gunshot wound to his upper body. An officer from the K9 unit applied a tactical tourniquet to the injury in order to stabilize it.
The victim was taken to hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable.
Just over four hours later police were called to the 500 block of St.Johns Avenue where they found a woman in her 20’s suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body.
The woman was transported to hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable.
Winnipeg’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating both shootings and is asking anyone with information about either incident that could help in the investigation to call them at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477)
