Three seemingly unrelated incidents have police looking for multiple suspects.
Winnipeg police say that between August 8th and August 10th they received reports of “strong-arm” robberies committed by multiple female suspects on three female victims. Although similar police say they believe that the incidents are not related.
The first incident happened around 7:00 am on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, in the 400 block of Edmonton Street. A woman in her 50s was approached by two female suspects who attempted to steal her purse. The suspects were scared off by a passerby and took off on foot without the victim’s purse. The victim suffered minor injuries in the assault and robbery attempt.
Two days later on August 10, 2017, a female victim in her 40s was walking in the 1800 block of Pembina Highway just after 3:00 am. She was confronted by four female assailants who demanded her property. During the interaction, the victim was assaulted several times but only suffered minor injuries.
A few hours later on Thursday, around 6:20 am, a woman arriving to work in the 600 block of Notre Dame Avenue was assaulted by three females who approached her car and began banging on the windows. The victim in her 40s got out of her car and was assaulted by two of the suspects. After stealing the victim’s property the suspects fled on foot. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. During the incident, police say her car was also damaged.
