Two men and one woman taken into custody
The Winnipeg Police Street Crime Unit and Organized Crime Unit executed a search warrant in a home in the 300 block of College Avenue on Tuesday evening, August 1, 2017.
Officers seized cash, marijuana and a 12-gauge shotgun with ammunition.
Investigators say that they believe that the people arrested and the items they seized were related to gang activity in the neighbourhood. Police also say that it appears the weapon seized was in the process of being modified to make it easier to conceal.
Two men and one woman were taken into custody.
Sheldon John Michelle, 35 from Winnipeg, has been arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Marijuana
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x5)
- Warrant for Arrest (Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x2))
He was detained in custody.
Weapons charges are still pending for the other male and the female for their alleged involvement.
They are also both from Winnipeg and have both been released on a promise to appear.
