Winnipeg Police have caught up to a man who was bilking residents of St. James and River Heights of their hard earned cash. The fraudster was allegedly going door-to-door un the premise of raising funds in the name of Cancer Care Manitoba.
Police got involved after the legitimacy of the con-artist came into question and determined that during the few weeks in August he had been operating he was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of cash form several victims.
Cory John Oger, 38, was identified and arrested for his alleged involvement in the caper and has been charged with fraud under $5,000 x8 and Fail to comply with probation order x8.
He was remanded into custody.
