A man suspected of stabbing another person at the 400 block of Edmonton Street around 11:00 pm on Friday, February 24, 2023, has been charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with an undertaking.
Police found a 21-year-old man suffering upper-body injuries sustained from a stabbing in a hallway in a building on Edmonton Street that evening. Officers provided emergency medical care to the victim, which included applying chest deals and tourniquets.
Police believe the suspect and the victim know each other, and it is believed the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital in unstable condition and treated for injuries that included two collapsed lungs. The victim’s condition has since been upgraded to stable.
The accused, 19-year-old Ren Carter, turned himself in to police on February 27, 2023. He is now charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with an undertaking.
